YO HO HO!!!! Christmas on Court Street Activity

We will be doing our version of the Christmas Carol on Friday Dec. 2 from 5-8 p.m. again this year. It will be associated with the Pekin Main Street activity “Christmas on Court Street”

We do the show outside in front of stores and in the small parks. It is really a lot of fun!! The store owners get into the action also.

You can be an active actor, a singer, just dress up and join the group or help direct the multitudes of spectators that follow the action!

The show typically is minimum rehearsal.

We hope to base the show out of Yesterday’s Bar and Grill again, but that has to be verified. We usually have a bite to eat and drink afterwards.

You can see pictures of last year’s activity in the show pics section of this blog.

If you are interested in participating – please come to the meeting, or contact Bill Homel or Dennis Peacock. We will have a ton of Holiday Cheer!!!!!

There will be a meeting at the ACT/MAP (120 St. Mary Street in Pekin) building -- Thursday, 11/17/05 at 6:30PM. There we will set up a read through and a few rehearsals.

If you have signed up to be involved or are still interested – come to the meet. This is a ton of fun and we will find parts for everyone!

If you cannot make the meeting – just contact Bill Homel or Dennis Peacock and we will keep you posted on future meetings.

"Cheaper by the Dozen" and "Funeral Tea"

Cheaper by the Dozen

Morton Area Players and The Artistic Community Theatre of Pekin will present the musical, “Cheaper by the Dozen”.

The entire family will love this classic. Mr. Gilbreth is a master of efficiency and wants all twelve of his children to understand time management, which includes a completely organized family council, and even playing French and German records while taking a bath. Unfortunately, his oldest daughter, Anne, only wants to be a normal teenage girl, and that seems to be too inefficient for him. He learns to accept her changes and changes a bit himself!

This musical comedy is being directed by Chip Johnson. The Music Director is Debbie Smith and the Choreographer is Heide Thorndyke.

Show dates are November 11, 12, 18 and 19 at 7:30PM and a matinee on November 13 at 2:30PM.

The performances will be at the Bertha Frank Performing Arts Center, located in the 400 block of E. Jackson (US #150), in Morton.

Tickets are: Adults/$12, Seniors/$10 and Students/$8. Tickets are available in advance at Colby Natural Health Store, 141 S. Main Street, Morton, or by calling 309-266 -7604.

This prompts a plot to kidnap the girl by the tyrannical and dastardly Miss Hannigan the orphange manager, her sleezy brother Rooster, and his girlfriend Lily.
